CMA Statement: Three Key Priorities for our Long Road Ahead
A message from the Royal College CEO
Truly 2020 has been a year like no other and health care has been challenged in ways we never expected nor could have anticipated. And all health care providers have responded and come together to support each other, stand together, and fight the global pandemic. Our Fellows and their health care workforce colleagues have been on the front lines caring for people with COVID-19 to protect all Canadians. As the fight to flatten the curve grows more challenging – we must unite.
Today, we join the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) in calling on the federal, provincial and territorial governments to collaborate and lead the next phase of the response through the three priorities raised in the open letter by CMA President, Dr. Ann Collins:

We must implement and follow public health recommendations and remain vigilant in our commitment to regain control, flatten the curve and eventually stabilize the pandemic. The Royal College is grateful to the commitment of Fellows relative to all vulnerable populations and their commitment remains critical to the fight against COVID-19. We feel we must unite to defeat this virus in every Canadian community.
Thank you and stay well,
