Save the date: Rural physician workshops on pathways to generalism
The Society of Rural Physicians of Canada invites physicians and others with an interest in medical generalism to a series of workshops at the 28th Annual Rural and Remote Medicine Course in Ottawa from April 23-25, 2020.
Sessions will focus on addressing the challenges generalist specialists are faced with to find successful strategies to
- support rural hospitals and
- measure and demonstrate quality and safety in their programs.
Other workshops in this generalism stream will address the pathways to rural generalist education, and the opportunities and modalities of advocacy for generalism.
Registration is now open and early bird rates are in effect until November 30th. Join them in 2020 for the conference theme, “Rural Physician Advocacy – How to Save the World in Your Spare Time.”
Call for abstracts closes December 31
Clinical, academic or research physicians from Canada or abroad who might wish to contribute to the conference are invited to submit their abstract before the end of the calendar year. Abstracts on aspects of generalism, clinical medicine, clinical or educational research relevant to rural health, are all welcome.
About the Rural and Remote Medicine Course
Rural and Remote Medicine is the largest continuing professional development gathering of rural physicians in Canada. While the majority of the attendees are rural family physicians, registrations always include significant numbers of generalist specialists, midwives, nurses, researchers, and other health care advocates and stakeholders.
