Susan Brien, MD, FRCSC, Royal College International’s vice-president of Asia-Pacific and the Royal College’s director of Performance and Systems Innovation, was in Nigeria in September. She gave remarks at the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria’s convocation ceremony for the 400 new graduates of Nigeria’s postgraduate medical training programs. This year marks 50 years of postgraduate medical education in the country.

“I am standing with the three wonderful executives from the West Africa College of Physicians — all women and also happen to be all pediatricians. I appreciated having a chance to sit with them to discuss with them their vision and goals. It was a privilege to be the only representative from a non-African college to attend this event.  From the photo, you can see that I brought my brightest jacket to fully participate in the wonderful and colourful celebrations.“ – Dr. Susan Brien
