New governance structure launched for CBD
This past spring, under the leadership of project lead, Dr. Jason Frank, a new CBD governance structure was launched to support the final phase of CBD implementation. This new model highlights four groups, each with an important role in completing the implementation of CBD. They include the:
- CBD Steering Group: This key decision-making body holds weekly monitoring meetings and is responsible for issues identification, coordination of activities. This group reports up to the Executive Directors Committee (EDC), which is made up of the Royal College’s senior leaders and clinician educators.
- CBD Stakeholder Advisory Board: Focuses on consultations with key stakeholders, including representatives from postgraduate deans, CBME leads, residents, program directors, and others to provide recommendations to the Steering Group on future directions to complete CBD.
- CBD Operations Team: Involves bi-weekly internal operations monitoring and coordination, and includes representatives across the Royal College.
- CBD Strategy and Implementation Group: Focuses on providing advice on PGME system issues, and includes monthly strategy and problem-solving meetings to optimize implementation of the new model.
