Colin C.J. Angliker, MBChB, FRCPC, died on August 29, 2019, in Wytheville, VA, U.S.A., at age 81. Dr. Angliker was certified by the Royal College in Psychiatry in 1970. He was a medical director at Marion Correctional Treatment Center before becoming a psychiatrist at Southwestern Virginia Mental Health Institute. Read more about Dr. Angliker.

Lloyd Cleveland Bartlett, MD, FRCSC, died on March 16, 2019, in Winnipeg, Man., at age 101. Dr. Bartlett was certified by the Royal College in General Surgery in 1953. An accomplished diagnostician, he invented the cannulated intravenous needle. Read more about Dr. Bartlett.

Ala Birca, MD, FRCPC, died on March 27, 2019, in Lachine, Que., at age 49. Dr. Birca was certified by the Royal College in Neurology in 2013. She graduated from Nicolae Testemiţanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy with her medical degree in 1992.

Andrew Donnelly, MBChB, FRCSC, died on March 15, 2019, in Grimsby, Ont., at age 90. Dr. Donnelly was certified by the Royal College in Urology in 1959. His career lasted over three decades. Read more about Dr. Donnelly.

Peter John Doris, MD, FRCSC, died on March 1, 2019, in Surrey, B.C., at age 74. Dr. Doris was certified by the Royal College in General Surgery in 1972. Known as an “outstanding surgeon and gentleman,” he was a former chief of surgery at Surrey Memorial Hospital. He volunteered at the Royal College as member of the Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Examination Board (1979-1981) and of the Plastic Surgery Examination Board (1979-1990). Rhodri Evans, MD, FRCPC, died on May 12, 2019, in Markham, Ont., at age 66. Dr. Evans was certified by the Royal College in Psychiatry in 1987. He graduated from the University of Sheffield with his medical degree in 1977.

Edward Benjamin Fish, MD, FRCSC, died on March 1, 2019, in Toronto, Ont., at age 91. Dr. Fish was certified by the Royal College in General Surgery in 1955. He graduated from University of Toronto with his medical degree in 1949. Read more about Dr. Fish.

Brian Ferguson Habbick, MD, FRCPC, died on March 19, 2019, in Victoria, B.C., at age 79. Dr. Habbick was certified by the Royal College in Pediatrics in 1971. He graduated from University of Glasgow with his medical degree in 1963. From 1976 to 1981, he served on the Royal College Pediatrics Examination Board.  Read more about Dr. Habbick.

Ralph Norman Hodd, MD, FRCSC, died on August 9, 2019, in Victoria, B.C., at age 85. Dr. Hodd was certified by the Royal College in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1967. He worked at the Scarborough General Hospital for 34 years. Read more about Dr. Hodd.

Robert Jackson, MDCM, FRCPC, died on March 24, 2019, in Ottawa, Ont., at age 92. Dr. Jackson was certified by the Royal College in Dermatology in 1955. Widely respected in his community of practice, he was formerly president of the Canadian Dermatology Association, vice-president of the American Dermatological Association and a member of the Royal College Archives and Library Committee (1992-2000). Henry Korman, MD, FRCSC, died on June 10, 2019, in Mont-Royal, Que., at age 96. Dr. Korman was certified by the Royal College in General Surgery in 1955. He considered surgery to be a love of his life. Read more about Dr. Korman.

Ellen M. Van Der Hoeven, MBChB, FRCPC, died on March 1, 2019, in Kingston, Ont., at age 88. Dr. Van Der Hoeven was certified by the Royal College in General Pathology (1936) and Medical Microbiology (1966). She is remembered for her dedication as a medical professional. Pavils Vasarinsh, MD, FRCPC, died on June 21, 2019, in Toronto, Ont., at age 91. Dr. Vasarinsh was certified by the Royal College in Dermatology in 1969. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario with his medical degree in 1955.
