Michael Andrew Ross, MD, FRCSC, died on November 23, 2020, in Victoria, B.C., at age 85. Dr. Ross was certified by the Royal College in Otolaryngology in 1972. He served for many years as chief of surgery at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. Dr. Ross was president of the Victoria Medical Society and a consultant at the Island Pain Clinic and the B.C. Cancer Clinic. He also taught at the University of Victoria for 10 years. Read more about Dr. Ross.

Robert Arthur Mackenzie, MD, FRCPC, died on April 22, 2020, in London, Ont., at age 84. Dr. Mackenzie was certified by the Royal College in Internal Medicine in 1974. He was a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan where he obtained his medical degree in 1963. Dr. Mackenzie was one of the first Nuclear Medicine physicians in London. Kim Edward Mong Hong, MD, FRCPC, died on July 13, 2020, in St. John’s N.L., at age 83. Dr. Hong was certified by the Royal College in Radiation Oncology in 1971. In addition to his work with the Newfoundland Cancer Clinic, Dr. Hong held several titles including president of the Chinese Association of Newfoundland and Labrador, co-founder of the Newfoundland Multicultural Council and appointee to the Canadian Council of Multiculturalism. James Wilson Grahame, MD, FRCSC, died on November 6, 2020, in Victoria, B.C., at age 81. Dr. Grahame was certified by the Royal College in Urology in 1969. He was a graduate of Queen’s University Belfast where he obtained his medical degree in 1963. Read more about Dr. Grahame.

Huu Hung Huynh, MD, FRCPC, died on June 29, 2020, in Montreal Que., at age 49. Dr. Huynh was certified by the Royal College in Internal Medicine in 1997. For over 15 years, he served as chief executive officer of the Internal Medicine Department at the Hôpital Pierre-Boucher. Read more about Dr. Huynh.

Edouard Bastien, MD, FRCSC, died on February 17, 2020, in Montreal, Que., at age 80. Dr. Bastien was certified by the Royal College in General Surgery in 1968. He was a graduate of the University of Montreal where he obtained his medical degree in 1964. Read more about Dr. Bastien.

Morris Sabin, MD, FRCSC, died on November 29, 2020, in Montreal, Que., at age 95. Dr. Sabin was certified by the Royal College in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1956. Along with his accomplishments in medicine, Dr. Sabin was a founding member of the Quebec Association for Children with Learning Disabilities (QACLD). Read more about Dr. Sabin.

Gwendoline M. Spurll, MD, FRCPC, died on May 29, 2019, in Montreal, Que., at age 68. Dr. Spurll was certified by the Royal College in Hematology in 1982. She is a graduate of the University of Manitoba where she obtained her medical degree in 1974. Read more about Dr. Spurll.

Waldemar Pruzanski, MD, FRCPC, died on September 9, 2020, in Toronto, Ont., at age 91. Dr. Pruzanski was certified by the Royal College in Internal Medicine in 1968. He is remembered as a devoted physician and researcher with close to 600 books, chapters, publications and abstracts to his name. Read more about Dr. Pruzanski.

Paul-Émile Tremblay, MD, FRCSC, died on November 7, 2020, in Alma, Que., at age 91. Dr. Tremblay was certified by the Royal College in Orthopedic Surgery in 1972. He is a graduate of Laval University where he obtained his medical degree in 1955. Read more about Dr. Tremblay.
