Lynn From, MD, FRCPC, died on April 19, 2020, in Toronto, Ont., at age 81. Dr. From was certified by the Royal College in Dermatology in 1971 and Anatomical Pathology in 1972. Described as a tireless public health advocate, Dr. From appeared numerous times in the media to remind people to wear sunscreen. Read more about Dr. From.
Stanley K. Sandomirsky, MD, FRCPC, died on August 27, 2019, in Saskatoon, Sask., at age 79. Dr. Sandomirsky was certified by the Royal College in Urology in 1973. After obtaining his medical degree from Queen’s University, Dr. Sandomirsky completed urological specialty training and a fellowship in Liverpool, England. He pursued his medical career in Saskatoon. Pierre Laflamme, MD, FRCPC, died on April 20, 2019, in Longueuil, Que., at age 79. Dr. Laflamme was certified by the Royal College in Diagnostic Radiology in 1972. He graduated from Université de Montréal with his medical degree in 1965. Read more about Dr. Laflamme.
Huy Hao Dao, MD, FRCPC, died on April 15, 2020, in Montreal, Que., at age 44. Dr. Dao was certified by the Royal College in Public Health and Preventive Medicine in 2012. He is remembered by colleagues for his passion, intelligence and devotion to his work and scholarship, which included research to combat Canada’s opioid crisis. Read more about Dr. Dao.
Jean Robert Bourdeau, MD, FRCSC, died on January 15, 2020, in Cornwall, Ont., at age 76. Dr. Bourdeau was certified by the Royal College in Orthopedic Surgery in 1973. He pursued his medical career as an Orthopaedic Surgeon and retired after working as the Medical Officer of Health for the Eastern Ontario Health Unit in Cornwall for two decades. Stephen Jerome Cartan, MD, FRCSC, died on April 11, 2020, in Maple, Ont., at age 75. Dr. Cartan was certified by the Royal College in Orthopedic Surgery in 1975. Dr. Cartan spent his entire medical career working at Etobicoke General Hospital before retiring in 2015. Read more about Dr. Cartan.
Dennis Charles D. Morey, MD, FRCPC, died on April 30, 2020, in Saskatoon, Sask., at age 75. Dr. Morey was certified by the Royal College in Anesthesiology in 1981. He enjoyed working at St. Paul’s Hospital and teaching medical undergraduate students during their rotation. Read more about Dr. Morey.
Dermot Brian O’Brien, MBChB, FRCSC, died on April 20, 2020, in Huntsville, Ont., at age 74. Dr. O’Brien was certified by the Royal College in Ophthalmology in 1978. Dr. O’Brien obtained his medical degree from the University College of Dublin. Read more about Dr. O’Brien.

Ernest Gerald Seidman, MDCM, FRCPC, died on December 16, 2019, in Montreal, Que., at age 67. Dr. Seidman was certified by the Royal College in Pediatrics in 1982. Ernest Rogan Jr, MD, FRCPC, died on April 28, 2020, in St. Albert, Alt., at age 61. Dr. Rogan was certified by the Royal College in Psychiatry in 1989. For over three decades, Dr. Rogan worked for Alberta Health Services in Edmonton and surrounding areas. Read more about Dr. Rogan.
