Malcolm C. Cumberlidge, MD, FRCSC, died on July 11, 2020, in Kelowna, B.C., at age 88. Dr. Cumberlidge was certified by the Royal College in General Surgery in 1975. He is a graduate of the University of British Columbia where he obtained his medical degree in 1968. Read more about Dr. Cumberlidge.
Charles Franklin Coates, MD, FRCPC, died on September 11, 2020, in London, Ont., at age 87. Dr. Coates was certified by the Royal College in Diagnostic Radiology in 1970. In addition to his successful medical career, Dr. Coates is remembered for his contributions to health care including establishing the ultrasound suite at London’s St. Joseph’s Hospital, serving on the Ontario Medical Association board and providing health care services in remote areas. Diana Pui-Ying Loh, MBBS, FRCPC, died on August 27, 2020, in Vancouver, B.C., at age 88. Dr. Loh was certified by the Royal College in Psychiatry in 1978. She obtained her medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 1956. Read more about Dr. Loh.
Thomas George Ricketts, MD, FRCPC, died on September 15, 2020, in Scarborough, Ont., at age 85. Dr. Ricketts was certified by the Royal College in Diagnostic Radiology in 1974. Laurier Morin, MD, FRCPC, died on March 17, 2020, in Montreal, Que., at age 87. Dr. Morin was certified by the Royal College in Diagnostic Radiology in 1969. He graduated with his medical degree from Université Laval where he also pursued his specialty training. Read more about Dr. Morin.
James John Vanleeuwen, MD, FRCPC, died on September 11, 2020, in Toronto, Ont., at age 86. Dr. Vanleeuwen was certified by the Royal College in Psychiatry in 1966. Upon completion of his specialty training, Dr. Vanleeuwen joined The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) where he spent four decades working as a child psychiatrist. Read more about Dr. Vanleeuwen.
Leonard Pinsky, MD/CM, FRCPC, died on January 17, 2020, in Montreal, Que., at age 85. Dr. Pinsky was certified by the Royal College in Pediatrics in 1967. He obtained his medical degree from McGill University in 1960. Read more about Dr. Pinsky.
John Jeremy Lewis Crosby, MBBS, FRCPC, died on July 15, 2020, in Vancouver, B.C., at age 84. Dr. Crosby was certified by the Royal College in Anesthesiology in 1973. In addition to his practice as an anesthesiologist, Dr. Crosby held several titles including clinical associate professor of medicine at the University of British Columbia, chairman of the British Columbia Anesthesiologists’ Society, council member of the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society, and chief of anesthesia at the Royal Columbian Hospital. Wing Chow Chan, MD, FRCSC, died on December 27, 2019 in Toronto, Ont., at age 78. Dr. Chan was certified by the Royal College in Ophthalmology in 1978. Dr. Chan practised as an ophthalmologist for four decades. Read more about Dr. Chan.
Robert Anthony Tokaryk, MD, FRCSC, died on September 16, 2020, in Saskatoon, Sask., at age 75. Dr. Tokaryk was certified by the Royal College in Plastic Surgery in 1984.
