Thomas Airlie Brown, MBChB FRCPC, died on October 6, 2019, in Vancouver, B.C., at age 93. Dr. Brown was certified by the Royal College in Internal Medicine in 1955. Before becoming a director of a pharmaceutical company, he taught at McGill University and worked at Montreal General Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital. Read more about Dr. Brown.

Hugh Wallace Edgar, MD, FRCPC, died on September 20, 2019, in London, Ont., at age 85. Dr. Edgar was certified by the Royal College in Diagnostic Radiology in 1963. He worked at a diagnostic imaging clinic where he provided his services to St. Joseph’s Hospital. Read more about Dr. Edgar.

Steven George Gader, MD, FRCSC, died on September 15, 2019, in Swift Current, Sask., at age 65. Dr. Gader was certified by the Royal College in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1992. His care was focused on high-risk pregnancies. Read more about Dr. Gader.

Denes “Dennis” Vincent Haraszthy, MD, FRCSC, died on August 11, 2019, in Toronto, Ont., at age 95. Dr. Haraszthy was certified by the Royal College in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1960. During his 36-year career, he worked at Toronto Grace Health Centre and St. Michael’s Hospital. Read more about Dr. Haraszthy.

Otto Hermann Huhn, MD, FRCPC, died on August 23, 2019, in Rockyview County, Alta., at age 83. Dr. Huhn was certified by the Royal College in General Pathology in 1968. He graduated from University of Alberta with his medical degree in 1963.

Mohammad Zulfiquar Hussain, MBBS, FRCPC, died on October 12, 2019, in Prince Albert, Sask., at age 79. Dr. Hussain was certified by the Royal College in Psychiatry in 1973. For more than 40 years, he served the community of Prince Albert. Read more about Dr. Hussain in the CBC News.

Philippe F. A. Richard, MD, FRCSC, died on September 26, 2019, in Mont-Royal, Que., at age 81. Dr. Richard was certified by the Royal College in General Surgery in 1974. He was the first surgeon in Montreal to insert a pulmonary artery catheter. Read more about Dr. Richard.

Eric John Sinton, MBChB, FRCSC, died on October 23, 2019, in Red Deer, Alta., at age 91. Dr. Sinton was certified by the Royal College in Ophthalmology in 1962. He graduated from University of Aberdeen with his medical degree in 1951. Read more about Dr. Sinton.

Harold Edward Stilwell, MD, FRCPC, died on March 31, 2019, in Tees, Alta., at age 87. Dr. Stilwell was certified by the Royal College in Diagnostic Radiology in 1964. He graduated from University of Alberta with his medical degree in 1959.

Mervyn Clarice Weir, MD, FRCPC, died on October 16, 2019, in Ottawa, Ont., at age 85. Dr. Weir was certified by the Royal College in Pediatrics in 1974. She was one of four women to graduate from University of British Columbia with a medical degree in 1959. Read more about Dr. Weir.
